Pepsi Center Turning People Away?

The hall is so pumped right now. The energy seriously ratcheted up. They're closing our area and I just heard a rumor from Oreo at DemConWatch that the fire marshall is closing the floor and the doors to the building. Problem is there is a huge line still outside of the Pepsi Center right now, even outside security. A lot of sad people outside right now.

And not for nothing, former Senator (and Republican) John Danforth is sitting in the blogger section. Bloggers were turned away from this area...which is reserved for bloggers by the way...in favor of Danforth. And no, Danforth is not blogging. Not cool. Picture from BuckEyeState Blog forthcoming.

Update [2008-8-26 21:49:49 by Todd Beeton]:Oh and by the way, the blogger section right under the Al Jazeera Channel sign. Classic.

Update [2008-8-26 21:56:32 by Todd Beeton]:NickD has a picture of Danforth over at Buckeye State Blog. You gotta see the picture, he's looking right at the camera. Come on, Danforth, what do you expect, you're sitting with bloggers, man.

I agree with NickD:

Why doesn't the DNC escort the Senator to better seating then we have, and allow two more bloggers to sit in seats with dedicated Cat 5 drops, which were designated Blogger seats?

Update [2008-8-26 22:8:34 by Todd Beeton]:Marc Ambinder (h/t Oreo):

There are massive lines at the main guest and delegate magnetometer checkpoint at this hour. It's a widely known but little reported fact that many delegates, most guests, and nearly all donors choose to attend only the primetime hours.

Why is Warner on now?  Isn't the keynote supposed to be on free TV.  I thought he was coming on after Hillary....

I'm so confused!

That happened in Boston (none / 0)

at the Fleet Center on the last night of the convention. I remember. The place had exceeded it's capacity. It was packed. I ended up standing in a closet with Omarosa and Larry King...true story.

Nothing against Warner.....but I think most of the nation would prefer the FREE TV be focused around Hillary Clinton.    This is her night.    I think it is very important that she be given a good portion of the FREE TV hour in order to make sure the appropriate message comes across.

So-so...

Warner was certainly better than Sebelius and Casey, but color me disappointed.

It was a solid speech, but I don't really care for his cadence.

Re: Is it just me and Rachel Maddow? (none / 0)

I'm a Warner neophyte - at least, so far as hearing him speak - but that doesn't seem to be his bag.

I thought Ted Strickland gave the best 2X4 upside McSame's head speech thus far...

Great ratings for Dem convention 1st night! (none / 0)

>22 million people saw Michelle Obama's speech last night according to TV ratings.

Put that in perspective 18 million people watched the first night of the Dem convention in 2004.

18 million? (none / 0)

how coincidental

Re: Pepsi Center Turning People Away? (none / 0)

Mark Warner was an embarrassment!!! This is the Kerry Convention all over again. Democrats need to grow a fucking backbone and not be afraid to attack McCain. I mean when is someone going call McCain out for all his BS. Two more days of spinelessness and it is over.

Just wait until the Republican Convention and see how nice the Republicans play.
